صبح ہوگی کہانی بنے گی کوئی

میں نے نفرت کی کھائی پہ پل رکھ دیا
پھر بھی ٹوٹا ہوا سلسلہ رہ گیا
سب ڈرامے کے کردار گھر چل دیے
سامنے ایک پردہ پڑا رہ گیا
یہ بھی تکلیف دہ اک سزا ہی تو ہے
شاخ میں ایک پتا ہرا رہ گیا
میں کسی کے یہاں وقت کیا کاٹتا
اپنا ہی گھر شفقؔ ڈھونڈھتا رہ گیا
An accident was about to happen
Yesterday's biggest event remained
The moon did not descend in the courtyard at night
The moon was left tangled in the branches
We were satisfied after listening
And now what is left to say
There will be a story in the morning

Still, the broken chain remained
